What Is the Best Material for Fashion Sunglasses?

Sunglasses are really important in our life now as the concept of fashion is so interconnected with our everyday life. As regards to choosing good-looking and fashionable sunglasses, we need to have a very bright vision or good ability to appreciate. The ability to detect the fashionable elements is nothing to be content with. In fact, the highest level of appreciation is having the very ability to detect different kinds of materials as sunglasses represent our characters which come from materials. So it makes us wonder “what is the best material for fashion sunglasses?”
Metal sunglasses
In order to work out that question, we not only need to know the current materials that are usually used to make sunglasses frames but also the abandoned materials that were used in the past years. Nowadays, two materials are the most popular and widely applied. They are plastic, in another word, acetate and metal alloy. The majority of the sunglasses frames are made of these two materials. Additionally, there are other two materials that are less frequently used – resin, tortoise shell and celluloid.
As to the four kinds of materials, what is the best material for fashion sunglasses? Well, I’m afraid to tell you the answer is no answer. It is the same to what the best color is. In fact, different people have different preferences that make them choose different things. Each material is unique for it has its own good qualities that are not comparable for other materials.
Horn rimmed sunglasses
Let’s first talk about celluloid. You might feel this material is strange to you because you seldom see it. But in history, celluloid has been widely applied in making sunglasses and other things like pens. Now celluloid has quitted in almost all areas. As I know, all over the world, there is only one company that makes colloid for the making of custom sunglasses and glasses frames. The reason for celluloid’s withdraw is it will self ignite when the temperature reaches 170 Celsius. It has very good textures and wears very comfortably. But in the same time, its plasticity and tinting are rather difficult.

Horn is one of the most expensive materials, and maybe you can call it the best because of its rareness. But there are really few sunglasses frames that are made of real horn. The horn rimmed sunglasses now are actually made of acetate. Tortoise is a very rare animal. And only three pieces of horn can be collected form one tortoise, so you can see how difficult it is to get one. So horn is just like celluloid, withdrawing from the market.

Plastic sunglasses
Finally, for most people, there are three choices left, acetate, resin or metal alloy. Resin is brighter and denser than acetate and differs in texture with acetate. Resin is smoother than acetate. But acetate feels very good when you put your hands on it and will not be reflective. As to metal alloy, in price, normally, metal alloy is more expensive than resin or acetate and has less plasticity. But on the other hand, metal alloy is more durable than any materials. Moreover, metal sunglasses are often connected with decency, nobleness and elegance.

So now we come back to our question “what is the best material for fashion sunglasses?” I think you might get your own answer.Article from:prescription wrap around safety glasses
